Comments on Request for Information; Feedback on Redesigning the Institute of Education Sciences

Wallace submitted comments in response to the U.S. Department of Education's request for recommendations on redesigning the Institute of Education Sciences. The foundation emphasized the critical importance of continued federal investment in education research and its data infrastructure. 

The recommendations submitted include: expanded data collection on school leaders and out-of-school programs; increased research funding for studies on principal effectiveness and summer/afterschool learning; improved evidence translation and dissemination to practitioners; and enhanced technical assistance to help states and districts build cultures of evidence-based practice.
