Offering child care and curriculums designed specifically for adults could be ways for libraries to boost “learner persistence” in adult literacy programs, according to this first of four reports stemming from Wallace’s Literacy in Libraries Across America initiative. The publication, by MDRC (formerly the Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation) also profiles five city libraries testing how well such strategies work.
