Implementation Tips
The taxonomy points to specific features of arts programs that make long-term positive outcomes for young people possible. Leaders of community arts organizations might consider using the taxonomy in a number of ways, depending on their specific needs and what stage of development their programs are in. Below are three suggestions utilizing the outcomes tables within the report:
- Identify outcomes from the outcomes tables that are a good fit with the organization’s overall mission and goals and then design programs to make progress toward those outcomes;
- Pinpoint program components that can drive progress toward multiple outcomes at the same time;
- Understand exactly what it is the program is doing right and how it leads to the outcomes that matter.
