Polly Singh

Polly Singh joined Wallace in 2002. As a member of the Youth Development team, she manages an array of projects and grantee relationships with school districts, national and local afterschool networks, out-of-school-time intermediaries, and youth-serving organizations. Major efforts she has been involved in over the years include the foundation’s initiatives in afterschool system-building and social-emotional learning.​

Among other things today, Singh manages the Wallace-supported efforts of eight organizations that serve young people from marginalized communities and several foundation-sponsored projects to accelerate the spread nationwide of evidence-based practices in summer learning and enrichment. Earlier, she led the development of a website, strongnonprofits.org,​ that offers financial management tools and resources specifically for nonprofit organizations. She has also served as an adviser to and reviewer of several Wallace-commissioned studies about out-of-school-time programming and taken part in conference panels and webinars to advance evidence-based practices in the out-of-school-time and summer learning fields.​

Before joining Wallace, Singh worked at Morgan Stanley and The Century Foundation. She has a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and a master’s degree in public administration from the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College. In addition, she studied in Spain and the Dominican Republic, where she taught English while earning certification to teach English as a second language. Singh serves on the New York chapter steering committee of Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy and on the steering committee of Grantmakers for Thriving Youth.​
