
Katie Cornell
Katie Cornell joined The Wallace Foundation in May 2025 as Director of Finance and Data Strategy. She is responsible for financial process optimization, data strategy and infrastructure management, and advanced financial planning and analysis.
Cornell brings over 10 years of finance and accounting experience to Wallace. Most recently, she was Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA), an intermediary organization with nearly $1 billion in assets and over 100 fiscally sponsored projects. In this role, she was responsible for building out a new FP&A function and team, including creating budget and financial planning processes, tools, and reports; conducting ad hoc financial analysis to inform strategic decision making; and developing FP&A services and resources for fiscally sponsored projects. Prior to this role, she was Assistant Controller at RPA, where she partnered closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Controller on many aspects of financial operations, including financial infrastructure management. Before joining RPA, she spent three years in investment banking and approximately six years in various nonprofit accounting and finance roles at Marymount Manhattan College.
Cornell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in German from the University of Georgia. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Medical Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Washington. In her free time, Cornell enjoys traveling, learning, and spending time outdoors with her family. In a past life, she practiced aerial dance, sang in early music ensembles, and recorded a metal album.
