Francisco Matos
Francisco Matos was named Wallace’s accounting manager in 2022. Along with directly handling the foundation’s investment accounting and coordinating Wallace’s annual audit and tax filings, he supervises accounts payable, payroll and a number of other general accounting functions.
Matos joined Wallace as a senior accountant in 2011. In that role, he prepared all the accounting work for Wallace's investment portfolio; oversaw grants management analysis; and played a lead role in the preparation of audited financial statements, tax returns and investment and grant-related reports and schedules to support financial reports to the foundation’s board of directors.
At the time, Matos brought 11 years of experience in the field, including seven spent as a public accountant, with responsibilities spanning audit, tax, financial reporting and business management. He served for three years as a fund controller for BNY Mellon, where he prepared the monthly closing and various reports for a portfolio of offshore entities with assets of more than $2.5 billion; determined fair market value measurements for the funds and conducted various analyses to ensure the portfolio was in compliance with regulations; and prepared quarterly and annual financial statements.
Matos is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Long Island University, C.W. Post.
