This research draws on data collected from 2021-2024 as part of a larger study of the District Summer Learning Network. For this brief, the researchers mainly drew from interviews conducted in 2024 with central office staff in 13 school districts. These district summer learning leads worked in a range of contexts—rural, suburban, and urban; large and small; districts with long histories of summer learning and districts newer to summer programming.
