Carolina Nova

Grants Administration Manager

Carolina Nova joined The Wallace Foundation in 2014 as the administrative assistant for Education Leadership. Promoted to grants administration manager in January 2023, she heads a three-person team that works to ensure all aspects of grants administration, support to staff, and reporting are of high quality. Her individual responsibilities include reviewing all grant/contract agreements, reviewing and managing grants associates' work in the grants management system, and ensuring that funding charts in reports that go to Wallace’s board of directors at periodic board meetings match the foundation’s cash forecast.

Prior to becoming grants administration manager, Nova served for seven years as a grants associate, supporting the foundation’s Arts, Education Leadership and Research units. Before that, she worked as a department coordinator in medical records for the Bergen Regional Medical Center in northern New Jersey. One of her responsibilities was training physicians in how to use the medical records database system. Another was to conduct ongoing follow-up with more than 300 physicians to ensure their medical records were complete, so they met compliance requirements and provided the information needed for the hospital to make timely payments to vendors and others.

While working full time, Nova earned a B.S. degree in biology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She enjoys reading and staying active in her free time. Nova swam competitively for six years, beginning when she was 14 years old.
