Aurelia Grayson
Aurelia Grayson joined The Wallace Foundation in 2019 as the communications officer for initiatives in Education Leadership and in the Arts. She is responsible for strategic communications as part of the foundation’s mission to foster equity and improvements in learning and enrichment for young people, and in the arts for everyone.
Grayson came to Wallace from Autism Speaks, where she was the senior director of media strategy. She brought with her storytelling skills developed in New York City newsrooms. From 2008-2013, she was the senior broadcast producer of “NBC Nightly News,” where she also oversaw series including “Education Nation.” That followed 13 years at “CBS This Morning,” where in addition to producing the broadcast, she field-produced features on education, the arts and ordinary people with extraordinary stories to tell. Grayson has led teams that earned Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award for live coverage of the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq.
She earned a B.S. degree in communications from Boston University and certificates in nonprofit leadership from Pace University and in digital marketing from Rutgers University Business School. Grayson developed an appreciation for arts education while studying classical piano at the Cleveland Music School Settlement.
